Diagnostic Testing
Students enrolled in Lighthouse Christian Academy are given diagnostic tests to determine skill and concept mastery. Enrolled families are assigned an experienced academic advisor who evaluates the diagnostic tests and prescribes curriculum based on the student's individual needs. Weak areas (gaps) are strengthened first; then the student continues, progressing at his achievement level.
Projected Course of Study
Academic advisors also prepare a projected course of study for high school students, outlining all courses needed for graduation. Four courses of study are offered: honors, college preparatory, general, and vocational.
Progress Reports
Academic records are maintained based on tests and grades submitted by the parent. Progress Reports (Report Cards) are prepared and sent to the parent at the end of each semester.
Transcripts and Enrollment Verification
Lighthouse Christian Academy maintains a permanent school record for each student. Official transcripts are sent to schools and colleges as requested. Enrollment verification is also provided as needed.
End-of-Year Standardized Testing
The Stanford 10/OLSAT 8 is a complete academic evaluation. When the two tests are taken together, the scores are a valuable tool, relating a student's actual achievement with his or her school ability. Norm-referenced scores enable you to compare your student's achievement with that of students of similar age, grade, and academic aptitude.
Dual Enrollment Program
Lighthouse Christian Academy is offering students who attend an A.C.E. Model or Quality Status School the opportunity to receive an accredited transcript and diploma through participation in the LCA Dual Enrollment Program. Schools who have earned A.C.E. Model or Quality Status may now apply for the Dual Enrollment Program to validate their students’ education.
