Africa

The Witibank Christian School and BLESS literacy program is an oasis. Housed in a building and two shacks, sometimes the rain comes in because of the lack of windows. There is only one bathroom facility, and the two meals provided are cooked on a single paraffin cooker. But the walls of this school resound with fun, laughter, learning, and Christian principles. Here, the Son always shines!

When I see what God is doing in this area where poverty, low morals, disease, and abuse are rife, my heart bubbles over with joy. Words are not enough to express thanks to my Heavenly Father for allowing me to be part of His plan.

Philippines

In August we arrived in a province of Mindanao to open a BLESS
Center in a conservative religious community where the mere
mention of Jesus' name could cost anyone his life. This town is not
a safe place, especially for Christians. However, with God's grace,
we carried out the task He set before us.

After a few days, parents started approaching us, sharing with us
the remarkable changes that they saw in their children. They told us
that their kids were now requesting them to pray before their meals,
before they went to sleep, and upon waking up. The children were
also sharing with their parents the Bible stories they learned in the
BLESS Center.

By a quarter of the way through the program, all our students had
already accepted the Lord as their Saviour. By this time also, they
had improved tremendously in their phonics. Now 8 out of 10 families in one
village have opened Bible studies in their homes!
