INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CATALOG FILE

INSTRUCTIONS FOR UPDATING STMS CATALOG:

  1. Click on the DOWNLOAD CATALOG link below.
  2. At the prompt, save the file to the STMS folder.
  3. Open the School of Tomorrow Management System program and click on FILE | UTILITIES | RESTORE DATA.  CatalogUpdate.zip will be highlighted in the left box.
  4. Click on Start Restore located at the bottom of the screen.
  5. Run the update utility program.

For 2.x and 3.x Users:
Click on FILE | UTILITIES | RUN CATALOG UPDATE PROGRAM.
At the update screen click on FILE | CATALOG | UPDATE.
Note: The percentage bar will indicate when the update in completed.

For 1.x Users:
Locate the STMS folder in Explorer.
Double click on STMSUpdate.exe.
Click on FILE | CATALOG | UPDATE.
Note: The percentage bar will indicate when the update is completed.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION:

  1. Make sure the school’s data is backed up to another directory on your hard drive or on disk. Do not back up the data to the current STMS directory. The previous version of STMS must be uninstalled prior to installing version 3.1.1.

  2. Contact A.C.E. Technical Support at TechnicalSupport@aceministries.com or 1-800-925-7777 to receive a password on the day you will use it. The password will expire at midnight of that day.

  3. Uninstall the previous version of School of Tomorrow Management System.

  4. Click on the DOWNLOAD STMS 3.1.1 INSTALLATION link at the bottom of this page. The Installation Wizard will guide you through the remainder of the download process.

    NOTE: If Windows XP Service Pack 2 is installed, you may receive an error message regarding MDAC 2.8 RTM. Service Pack 2 installed a newer version of MDAC 2.8 RTM than is included in this version. STMS will work with both versions of MDAC 2.8 RTM. Continue installation by either clicking the X in the upper right hand corner of the message window or by clicking Continue.

    Contact Tech Support if installation does not complete or if you encounter problems starting the program.

  5. When the installation process is complete, restore your backup and convert the database to the new format. Conversion instructions are found in the STMS online help or in the User’s Guide and Tutorial.

  6. Download the latest catalog update (July 1, 2008) from the A.C.E. website.

*Free upgrade for customers who have purchased School of Tomorrow Management System versions 1.X and 2.X.

DOWNLOAD STMS 3.1.1 INSTALLATION
